Designcraft is a prototype design and tooling company founded in 2001 and located on the waterside in Southampton UK. Our expertise, gained in over 20 years in the wind industry, is in the design and construction of turbine blades. We have experience with many different materials, processes and build methods and are adapting the best of these in the design and manufacture of blades, moulds and composite components for the marine and renewable industries.

Wind Energy
Designcraft have worked with Vestas Blades UK Ltd on large scale wind turbine blades. Designcraft have built tools to produce blades up to 49m and numerous structural test specimens, together with prototypes for smaller wind turbine projects.

Marine
Designcraft have built a number of hydrofoils and fins for high speed craft, built in carbon in CNC machined molds for strength and stability under load.
Other Projects include 30' trimaram, high temperature mold tooling for Olympic rowing four (Eton Racing Boats) and components for the speed boat sailing contender "Sail Rocket"
